Electricity Pricing Update Sept 21

The price increases in Vic over the past few months slowed across August but prices now are as high as they have been for near on 12 months. Futures pricing suggests that there will be some easing of prices across future years (see below ASX Energy chart). Continued high levels of renewables generation is contributing to softening of the pricing market.
New network tariffs have been rolled out by Retailers since 1 July where some small (and larger) business customers have been switched to time of use and demand tariffs. In some cases, customers have the option to opt out of these tariffs.
